The White House as they brace for a "Blue Wave"

Image result for wave

CNN reports that Republicans on the inside are worried that the President and his team have underestimated the upcoming November election. People around him are concerned by his seemingly delusional demeanor in regards to the possibility of losing the House. The odds favor Democrats to take over the House of Representatives and fill many Governors offices as well, some are calling it a Blue Wave. Mr. Trump is known to take drastic measures in drastic situations, but he has to be careful here because what he does next can either help his party or backfire in his face. After another drop in presidential approval rating, his credibility amongst the American public is quickly eroding. In the wake of a series of rather complicated domestic situations, the President may try to escape his troubles and change the conversation. With his plan to address the UN later this month and trips to Europe and South America already planned, Mr. Trump and his team prepare to shift the focus abroad.

With the fast approaching Blue Wave ready to take on America and the White House, what do you think the President will do to try and stop it? In your opinion, do you believe the Blue Wave is good or bad for America?

  1. Isn't asking if "the Blue Wave is good or bad for America" just a matter of personal opinion? With all due respect, wouldn't a better question choice be to ask with regard to a specific entity like "from the perspective of the Republican party..."

  2. It's interesting that Mr. Trump has decided to become careful in his words and actions considering his actions the past year. I'm curious to see what will happen if the Democrats take over and curious to see how much work will get done if that was to happen.

  3. It is hard to determine what Trump will do because as you have said, he tends to take drastic measures in drastic situations. It may be too late for him to change the thinking of voters in the election as he has already done more than 2 years of damage in the position. I think the Blue Wave isn't simply good or bad. As always, there will always be pros and cons of political parties for every citizen.

  4. Kaitlyn, I too find it very interesting that Mr. Trump is in this position. Forcing him to do the right thing may have some good things come out of it.

  5. President Trump hasn't always adhered to Republican ideals, so I don't think that he cares too much as of now. I think the Republican reps in the White House, on the other hand, are very worried. In my opinion, Trump will probably go on a twitter rant again and try to sway his followers into voting Republican as the elections approach closer. I don't really have an opinion on the Blue Wave except that I support it? It really depends on your political views, to be honest.

  6. I think the president will most likely just tweet some negatives about the runners, whether it be fake new or not, because that seems to be the way he deals will his enemies. I think it would be a good thing to have more left-sided people in the House, because that way they can keep the president in check. There has been too many ridiculous events this year such a the child separation and passport incident. However, I am also curious in what the right side feels about Trump's doings and their opinions on the blue wave.

  7. I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing because it all depends on how trump will react to it. If he takes drastic measures to make a change, he might do more harm than good

  8. While I would normally doubt that a power shift in the house would bring much change, as it is often a reality for every new administration, the blue wave, being a more unique reaction to a more unique issue (Trump's administration), might be stronger and more lasting than in the past.

  9. I think Trump will try and stop the blue wave by saying something bad about the Democrats and directly attacking them and criticizing them as he has been known to do in the past. This is why I agree with the part saying that he has been known to take drastic measures since there’s some accuracy to that. I think the blue wave will be good for America since I don’t think Trump deserves a second term, he hasn’t done anything to truly improve the country like he said he would. I also think a Democratic president will also be interesting.

  10. Trump might be aware of his own situation in order to not lose the White House (contrary to his past approaches which has deemed him questionable), or perhaps he might not be able to do anything at all. Personally, I am neutral about the matter of whether the Blue Wave is good or bad, but they may be a more preferable choice for others.

  11. Having the Democrats make moves against President Trump and try to balance out the power by controlling majority of Congress is pretty interesting. If they succeed, they can curtail some of Trump's political actions. I agree that the president is in a very tough situation and he must be careful or his next moves could have significant repercussions.

  12. I mean I guess the "Blue Wave" will be good or bad depending if you side with the Democrats or the Republicans. Good if you are a Democrat and bad if you are a Republican. The blue wave is a demonstration of how the American people disapproves of the way President Trump and his administration are currently running the country.
